It's quite a long read but I think it's really worth your time. Knowing about a problem is the first step to make it better. The only problem I have with this essay is that he concludes with:
If we choose to ignore this, we do so at our peril.
The problem is: we cannot really do much about it. We live in a world where technology is everything and most of us cannot live one day without it. There is proof that alternatives to our current systems might not use the same techniques on us in the future.
